A Fantastic Trip to Science Camp!
Fifty of our sixth graders just returned from a wonderful three days at the Mission Springs Science Camp. This was Lakewood's first trip to camp in well over a decade, and it could not have gone better! Our great thanks to all the parents and sponsors who made this trip possible. Thank you to Ms. M, Mr. Garcia, Mrs. Carey, Mr. Myers, and Mrs. Daniel for chaperoning our trip and helping to keep our kids safe! And thank you to Mrs. Hammer, Mrs. Ruiz and all of the members of the Lakewood Family who helped make this trip happen! It feels so amazing to be part of this incredible learning community!!!
Next up? Our fifth graders start fund-raising and making payments for next year!

2016 is now a part of history and 2017 is upon us. It is hard to imagine we are beginning the second half of the school year. There are many things to look forward to in the upcoming months, but before I talk about the future, I would like to acknowledge and thank Parent Club members and all the volunteers that have volunteered their time and energy. Events have included Sports and Fun Day, Math-A-Thon, Juice It Up Fundraiser, Book Fair, Red Ribbon Week, Science Camp Fundraiser, Cookie Dough Fundraiser and the Holiday Ten Cent Store.
During the upcoming months we will look forward to Yo-Yo Assembly, Chipolte Night, Muffins With Moms, Juice It Up, Tony's Pizza Night, Donuts With Dads, Mixed Bags Fundraiser, Read Across America, Jog-A-Thon, Birthday Book Club, Ice Cream Social and Open House.
Science Camp will be taking place in May for sixth grade students this year for the first time in many years! We are very excited to be bringing Science Camp back to Lakewood.
CAASPP Testing will take place in April and May for third through sixth grade students. I will be sharing more information regarding this as the testing window draws closer.
As always, your support is always appreciated.
It is a great day to be a Lakewood Lion!
